At least in the minds of people, “Tinsel Town” is the home of the movies. Always popular with tourists, and now due to a revitilization the area now has some of the hippest hotels, finest restaurants, and trendiest clubs in LA.

The world famous HOLLYWOOD sign, originally an advertising billboard of sorts for a real estate development called Hollywoodland (the “land” part having been dropped long ago), is visible from many vantage points including the Mulholland Drive overlook, and from many streets in Hollywood looking North toward the sign, particularly the top of Beverlywood Drive which will also take you past the Hollywoodland real estate company office – still an active business after all these years.

The Walk Of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard features stars on the sidewalk with the names of famous actors, actresses and directors from the Golden Age Of Film to current favorites.Grauman’s Chinese Theater, which has been around since the 1920’s, has concrete impressions of hands and feet of many icons including Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra and current stars such as Will Smith and Tom Cruise.
