Disneyland

The first of Disney’s theme parks and for many people, still the best!  

This Magic Kingdom, located in Anaheim, just outside of Los Angeles

is a wonderful place to visit for young and old, and everyone in between! 

Some of the many attractions include “It’s a Small World”, 

“Pirates of the Carribean” “Space Mountain”.

While you can have a wonderful day there, many visitors try to allocate

two days or more, since there is so much to see and do, and that doesn’t 

even include Disneyland’s sister park, California Adventure.

Farmers Market

Since 1934 Farmers market has been a staple of the LA experience with its many restaurants and shops.  It is now joined by its newer adjacent cousin The Grove, but retains all of its original charm and and it compliments its newer neighbor very well.   

Forest Lawn Memorial Park

Griffith Park

With over 4,000 acres, this is one of the largest urban parks in America.  Situated on rolling hills adjacent to the Hollywood area, and overlooking Downtown LA.  Within its grounds are The Los Angeles Zoo, The Greek Theater, Griffith Park Observatory and Planetarium (with state of the art telescopes), a golf course, and many beautiful spots for picnics hikes and strolls.

In the Max Factor building, this has many treasures from stars and movies of Hollywood’s past.

Knotts Berry Farm

Another fun day, this theme park, is located in Santa Ana, not far from Disneyland.  With its wild rides, Knotts Berry Farm typically attracts those seeking a fun filled adventurous day out. 

La Brea Tar Pits

Many prehistoric fossils have been found here.  See replicas of dinosaurs and 

other extinct mammals while viewing the still bubbling tar in the pits.

Los Angeles Zoo

Located within Griffith Park, this is an excellent zoo.  While not as large as the 

San Diego Zoo two hours south of LA, the city zoo is nonetheless a fun place to 

spend a day and has many rare and endangered species.

Recently opened next to Graumans Chinese Theater, this stunning new incarnation of the world famous waxworks is a welcome addition to Hollywood’s attractions.  

NBC Studios

Tho only major network television studio offering a tour.  

Olvera Street / El Pueblo De Los Angeles Historic  

Situated in the oldest part of Los Angeles where the city was established in 1781, just outside of what is now Downtown, this is one of most popular tourist attractions in LA.  Covering several blocks, the area includes a vibrant Mexican marketplace featuing many shops and stalls.  You can also enjoy authentic Mexican food at the many restaurants.  The oldest residence in the city, Avila Adobe, built in 1818, has been restored and is available for public viewing, free of charge.

Queen Mary



Once the greatest ocean liner of its time, it now docks permanantely in 

Long Beach Harbor and is used as a hotel.  Still in remarkably good condition, 

with much of the ship having been refurbished to original specifications, 

it is quite a sight to see!


Watts Towers

A remarkable creation comprised of concrete, tile, pottery and glass.
